1. About SeaHunter
SeaHunter is a maritime career platform connecting seafarers, students/cadets, and shipping companies. We provide tools to browse vacancies, manage profiles and documents, request career or education services, and communicate with our team.
SeaHunter is an intermediary and facilitation platform. Unless we expressly state otherwise in writing, we are not the employer for vacancies listed by third-party companies and we do not guarantee employment, visas, admissions, or specific outcomes.
2. Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 16 years old (or the age of digital consent in your country, if higher) and able to form a binding contract to use the Platform.
You agree to provide accurate registration information, keep your credentials confidential, and notify us promptly of unauthorized access. You are responsible for activity under your account.
Company accounts must be created by an authorized representative of the company. You confirm that information you post about vacancies and hiring is accurate and lawful.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Platform for unlawful, fraudulent, discriminatory, or abusive purposes.
- Upload false documents, impersonate others, or misrepresent your qualifications or company status.
- Scrape, harvest, or bulk-download content without our written permission.
- Interfere with Platform security, attempt unauthorized access, or introduce malware.
- Post spam, malware links, or content that infringes third-party rights.
- Use candidate or company contact details obtained through SeaHunter for purposes unrelated to the stated maritime career opportunity.
4. Profiles, documents, and applications
You retain ownership of content you upload (CVs, certificates, messages, vacancy texts). You grant SeaHunter a non-exclusive license to host, process, display, and transmit that content as needed to operate the Platform and fulfill your requests (for example sharing an application with a company you applied to).
You are responsible for the accuracy and legality of documents and data you submit. SeaHunter may review, delay, or refuse content that appears incomplete, unsafe, or non-compliant.
5. Vacancies and company content
Vacancy listings and company materials may be submitted by third parties. We may verify or moderate listings but do not warrant that every listing is always current, complete, or suitable for you. You should independently assess offers, contracts, and working conditions before accepting employment.
Companies must comply with applicable labour, anti-discrimination, and maritime crewing rules when posting vacancies or contacting candidates.
6. Services and enquiries
Requests for CV help, tests, English training, visas, study abroad, sponsorship, or other services may be handled by SeaHunter or by partners. Specific fees, timelines, and deliverables (if any) will be confirmed separately before paid work begins.
Submitting an enquiry does not create an employment or agency relationship unless agreed in a separate written contract.
7. Fees
Browsing public pages may be free. Some premium services or company features may require payment under separate pricing terms. Seafarers and students should never be asked by SeaHunter staff to pay unofficial “placement fees” outside documented service invoices. Report suspicious requests to hello@seahunterhub.com.
8. Intellectual property
The SeaHunter name, logo, design, and Platform software are owned by SeaHunter or its licensors. You may not copy, modify, or redistribute our branding or software except as allowed by these Terms or with prior written consent.
9. Privacy
Personal data is processed as described in our Privacy Policy. By using the Platform you acknowledge that policy.
10. Disclaimers
The Platform is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, uninterrupted availability, and non-infringement. Career outcomes depend on many factors outside our control.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, SeaHunter and its team are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, or career opportunities arising from use of the Platform or reliance on third-party vacancy content. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Platform is limited to the greater of (a) the fees you paid us for the specific paid service giving rise to the claim in the 12 months before the claim, or (b) USD 100.
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be limited under applicable law (including for fraud or personal injury caused by negligence where such exclusion is prohibited).
12. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms, create risk for other users, or if we must do so for legal or security reasons. You may stop using the Platform and request account closure at any time by contacting us.
13. Changes
We may update these Terms periodically. The “Last updated” date will change when we do. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree, stop using the Platform and close your account.
14. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which SeaHunter primarily operates, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence apply. Courts in that jurisdiction shall have exclusive venue for disputes, subject to those mandatory rights.
